Justin Moore is playing a show in someone’s backyard. That “someone” could be you.
On April Fools Day, Justin Moore announced the Gold Record Challenge. However, fans quickly realized it wasn’t a joke.
Moore’s label, Valory Music Co./Big Machine Label Group, challenged him to reach “Gold” status, selling a total of 500,000 albums, for his record Off The Beaten Path. Moore enlisted his fans to participate in the challenge, unlocking awesome prizes along the way. When the remaining 150,000 album are sold, one lucky fan who participated in the challenge will win a private concert at their house. Fans can join the challenge here.
“At the end of this deal, when we reach our goal, we’re going to pick one of y’all and we’re going to come play a concert at your house…” Moore said in a video for the challenge. “So tell your neighbors to be ready because we’re coming.”
Once fans join the challenge, they’re encouraged to do their part by purchasing Off The Beaten Path to help reach the goal. Fans also have the opportunity to share the challenge on social media for multiple entries in the contest. There’s quite a buzz on social media with photos of fans listening to the album and comments expressing why their house is the perfect location for the private show.
Some of the other prizes include autographed CDs, personal phone calls from Moore, tickets and meet and greets, and personalized Off The Beaten Path gold plaques when the ultimate goal is achieved.
Join the challenge and as Moore said, tell your neighbors because he could be headed your way.
