Josh Abbott Asks Fans for Prayers Following His Dad's Stroke

Josh Abbott is asking his fans for prayers as his father recovers from a stroke.

According to a post on Josh Abbott Band's Instagram, Abbott's dad suffered a stroke last Thursday (Feb. 9) but the effects only became evident on Saturday (Feb. 11). Details of his condition are few, but Abbott says that his father "isn't doing well."

"Tell your family you love them," he advised his fans. "You just never know what can happen and then it might be too late."

Fans responded by flooding the photo with comments of love and prayer. "Prayers for a full and swift recovery," one wrote. Another added, "Prayers sent your way, my dad had a stroke not long ago and its takes lot of physical rehabilitation!"

The Josh Abbott Band's Live It While You Got It Tour is slated to start Friday (Feb. 17) in College Station, with dates scheduled through March 26. The trek features William Clark Green as support. Tickets are available on the band's official website.
