Josh Abbott Band has opted to cancel all public appearances for the next week following a series of “heavy emotional blows” over the weekend.
On July 23, lead singer Josh Abbott revealed that he was recovering from a severe allergic reaction that landed him in the hospital. The health scare caused the band to cancel an appearance in Las Vegas set for that evening. Now, Abbott has revealed that the band is reeling from two more shocking events.
“Over the past weekend, our band incurred a series of heavy emotional blows,” Abbott shared on the band’s Facebook page. “Our bass player James lost his grandfather. Also, 2 of our band members discovered a dead body in Vegas in a horrific manner. And lastly, I suffered an extreme case of anaphylaxis that resulted in an ER visit that saved my life, but am still recovering from swollen vocals.”
The band has cancelled all public appearances and performances for the next week in order to attend funeral services. Abbott says all of these events will be rescheduled in the future.
“We ask for your prayers and privacy this week,” he writes. “Thank you for understanding.”
Hopefully this week of rest and relaxation will have the band and better than ever in no time.
