John Rich Weighs in on Confederate Flag Controversy

Outspoken Big & Rich member John Rich has weighed in on recent efforts to remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse grounds.

Public discussion and debate has rapidly increased after the hate-driven shooting last week at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church that led to the deaths of nine people. During a recent interview on Fox News’ Hannity, Rich said he only places importance on the American flag.

“There’s only one flag I care about,” he told host Sean Hannity. “And I think that’s the end of the argument right there.” He then went on to explain why he felt it was no longer helpful or appropriate to keep using the Confederate battle flag in public displays.

“I think we can go on ad nauseam about this forever. If something’s bringing pain, or if something is bringing something that somebody uses for hate like that, I mean, I just don’t see the point of continuing to go forward with it.”

When asked about South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s efforts to remove the flag from its statehouse, Rich had nothing but support for the move. “I applaud that and I think she’s right,” Rich added.
