Many of Joey + Rory‘s dedicated fans were saddened when Little Big Town snagged the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night. The loss created no hard feelings for the duo, who shared their appreciation and gratitude following the ceremony.
On Feb. 16, the couple posted this photo of their Grammy nominee medallion with the simple message, “…more than enough.” The couple did not attend the award show, as Joey Feek is currently in hospice care as she continues to battle against terminal cervical cancer. Her husband, Rory, recently explained on his blog, This Life I Live, why he send his daughters Hopie and Heidi to represent them at the event.
“I can’t leave her. I won’t,” Rory Feek shared. “I have done many foolish things and made lots of mistakes in my life, but this isn’t going to be one of them.”
Heidi Feek shared photos of the event through her Instagram account during the trip, including this snapshot that shows her wearing Joey’s bracelet and ring with “J+R” inscribed on them. Back at home, the couple watched alongside their daughter Indiana, who got the star treatment from her aunts during the big day.
Although the loss would be devastating to most artists, the Feeks continue to show appreciation for everything they are given during this difficult time. We continue to wish Joey + Rory the best, and will keep you updated on any developments.
