Good news, fans of good music: Jason Isbell just announced his brand new album The Nashville Sound. Isbell revealed the record title and release date while speaking to Nashville's top independent radio station Lightning 100.
His third record with producer Dave Cobb, The Nashville Sound comes out June 16, and that's not all. Isbell also announced he and his band the 400 Unit have a string of Ryman Auditorium shows booked for October. They're helping celebrate 125 years of Ryman greatness.
They'll play Oct. 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15. All tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Isbell shot into the stratosphere with 2015's Something More Than Free. That album won the Grammy for Best Americana Album and topped the Billboard charts for rock, folk and country.
Since then, fans have been clamoring to get more from the former Drive-By Truckers frontman. Isbell released a teaser video last month showing the band in the studio.
But you don't even have to wait until June to hear more from Isbell and company. He also revealed the band recorded a live album at Nashville's famous Welcome To 1979 studio. That album, appropriately titled Live From Welcome To 1979, also features a whole bunch of covers that influenced Isbell.
Artists he covered include Bruce Springsteen, John Prine and The Rolling Stones. The record also includes a version of "Never Gonna Change," one of the only Drive-By Truckers songs Isbell still regularly plays. That album drops April 22 in celebration of Record Store Day.

Though he hasn't announced additional tour dates yet, there's a good chance he will. After all, big tours usually coincide with big album releases, and The Nashville Sound certainly qualifies as one of the biggest of the year. We'll be sure to be on the lookout for any additional tour dates or sneak previews of the new album. In the meantime, if you're anyway near Nashville, set your clocks for 10 a.m. Friday to snag those Ryman tickets!
