Jana Kramer is set to be the Grand Marshal for this year’s annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade.
It was just revealed that the “I Got The Boy” singer, who’s currently expecting her first child due in early 2016, will be taking on the honorary role for the 62nd year of the parade, which will kick off the festive season in music city on Dec. 5.
“The Nashville community is strong and filled with amazing people,” Kramer, who will be joining The Nashville Ballet and the Vanderbilt “Spirit of Gold” Marching Band at the big show, revealed in a statement. “It is an honor to join the Nashville Christmas Parade, and I can’t express how excited I am to be a part of it.”
The theme for this year’s extravaganza will be “Miracle on Broadway” and will see all proceeds from the big event benefit the Share the Warmth charity, Piedmont Natural’s energy assistance program that assists low-income families in paying their energy bills.
This year’s event will also be taking a whole new route through music city. Making a bit of change from the traditional route, the 2015 parade will begin at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Broadway at 10AM and will then head east down Broadway to Second Avenue North. Eventually crossing over the Cumberland River, the route will then end at the base of the Woodland Street Bridge.
