Jack Daniel’s Celebrates 150th Anniversary with New Whiskey

Jack Daniel's

In honor of their 150th anniversary, Jack Daniel’s is releasing a brand new whiskey. This special batch costs $100 for a limited-edition 1-liter bottle.

Master Distiller Jack Arrnett is responsible for this new masterpiece. Keeping with tradition, he chose to use methods that the company have tried and perfected over the years. But, he also made sure to include signature characteristics that the founder of the company, Jasper Newton ‘Jack’ Daniel, would want.

To create the new whiskey, Arrnett started with a grain mash bill. This is the same one the company uses to create Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7, and includes a combination of corn, barley and rye. Then, the whiskey goes through a process involving sugar maple charcoal and American oak barrels.

What really makes this whiskey special though is the unique location where the company stores it. This spot, nicknamed “Angel’s Roost,” is one of the oldest barrelhouses that Jack Daniel’s owns. Each bottle of whiskey is 100-proof, and has a complex and rich taste that will take your breath away.

If you want to try this new whiskey for yourself, you’ll need to be patient. The whiskey went on sale on Sept. 7 and there’s a long waiting list for those wanting to buy a bottle. But, it’s safe to say that it will be more than worth the wait.
