Is Jason Isbell Teasing a New Album?

Jason Isbell has fans all in a tizzy after this new video surfaced on social media. The critically acclaimed singer recently shared a social media post that certainly seems like a tease for a new album.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 1:20 p.m., Isbell's Southeastern Records posted a new black and white clip on their social media pages. The label also changed its Twitter description to "Stay Tuned..." with a link to sign up to Isbell's mailing list.

The video lasts just over thirty seconds. Orchestral swells and rising electric guitars layover dramatic sweeping images of gear and studio space. Isbell and his band make intermittent appearances, and they certainly seem like they're preparing new tunes.

That's about all the info we have for now. But expect some big news to be dropping sooner rather than later.

Jason Isbell is staying busy these days. Between the cryptic possibility of recording new music, he's been on tour performing sold out shows in Mexico and the United States.

To date, Isbell has five solo records. He started his solo career in 2007 after departing the band Drive-By Truckers. And his most recent album, 2015's Something More Than Free, launched the singer into the critically acclaimed stratosphere.

The record topped the country, folk and Americana charts and peaked at No. 6 overall. He won Album of the Year and Song of the Year ("24 Frames") at the Americana Music Honors & Awards in 2016.

Isbell also snagged two Grammys for Best Americana Album and Best American Roots Song ("24 Frames"). So whatever he has up his sleeve next certainly comes with lofty expectations.

But we've got faith Isbell can land it. The 38-year-old singer built a steady career off increasing success, and there's no reason he'll stop now. We'll be sure to keep you informed of any new musical developments from the singer.
