During his stop by The Bobby Bones Show this week, Jon Pardi opted to honor one of his biggest influences with a musical tribute.

Most artists who come by the popular radio show like to perform a fun cover, and Pardi was ready for the occasion. With just his acoustic guitar, he put his own spin on George Strait’s “I Just Want To Dance With You.” Staying true to the original, Pardi keeps the smooth and silky vibe that made the cut such a fan favorite.

Watch the entire performance below.

The “Dirt On My Boots” singer has been vocal about his admiration for Strait. He previously covered his classic hit “All My Ex’s (Live In Texas)” with Dierks Bentley. He even dug into George’s deep cuts for a take on his 1986 single “Nobody In His Right Mind Would’ve Left Her.

George Strait’s “I Just Want to Dance With You” Lyrics:

I don’t want to be the kind to hesitate
Be too shy, wait too late
I don’t care what they say other lovers do
I just want to dance with you
I got a feeling that you have a heart like mine
So, let it show, let it shine
If we have a chance to make one heart of two
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That’s what they intended dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more
That’s what they invented dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I caught you looking at me when I looked at you
Yes, I did; ain’t that true?
You won’t get embarrassed by the things I do
I just want to dance with you
Oh, the boys are playing softly, and the girls are too
So am I, and so are you
If this were a movie, we’d be right on cue
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That’s what they intended dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more
That’s what they invented dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Twirl you all around the floor
That’s what they intended dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I want to dance with you
Hold you in my arms once more
That’s what they invented dancing for
I just want to dance with you
I just want to dance with you
I just wan to dance with you
I just want to dance with you
