Randy Houser shows off an edgier sound with his adventurous new single, “We Went.”
Randy Houser stays true to himself but experiments with his sound on his new single. “We Went” tells the familiar story of a Bonnie and Clyde-like couple on the run from everything and anyone. The production of the song, with heavy, reverbed guitar and vocal accompaniment, sticks to the kind of punchy story-song Houser does best.
The single, written by Justin Wilson, Matt Rogers and John King, showcases an edgier, more experimental sound than anything Houser has released before.
“Rhythmically and lyrically it’s more progressive than what I’ve ever done,” Houser said of the song to Rolling Stone Country. “Justin told me they put this song together like a puzzle, and I think they did a great job with the alliteration and how the lyrics fit together seamlessly.”
“We Went” will drop May 18.
Houser is currently preparing for the release of his fourth studio album later this year. Until then, you can see him on the road with Luke Bryan‘s Kick Up The Dust tour through the rest of the summer.
