Hear Powerful Chris Kyle Tribute Song by Pete Scobell, Wynonna Judd

Chris Kyle’s friend, a former Navy Seal, released the touching tribute song last week, and it quickly shot up to the top of the iTunes country charts.

Scobell released the song just days after the man who killed Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield was found guilty of murder. The song, “The Hearts I leave Behind,” was co-written by Travis Meadows, who also wrote Dierks Bentley’s hit “The Riser” and Jake Owens’ “What We Ain’t Got.” Wynonna Judd lent her vocals to the touching tribute.

Last week, Kyle’s wife, Taya, announced the song on Kyle’s Facebook page.

“On the Patriot Tour last year the crew on the bus included our good friend and Chris’s teammate Pete Scobell who was the musician on tour with us. I asked about how he chooses which songs to sing and asked if I could listen to some. He played “The Hearts I Leave Behind”. With tears rolling down my face, I looked at Pete and said, “you have to record this song.” This song is Chris. It is me. It is all the people who carry Chris in the hearts he left behind.”

Proceeds from the songs will benefit the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, which helps support the families of veterans, active servicemen and first responders.
