Jake Owen gets real about the simple life in his fun new single, “Real Life.”
Jake Owen is giving a taste of what’s to come from his yet-to-be-released fifth studio album with his brand new single, “Real Life.”
The song, written by Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, is a simple but catchy story-song that describes and praises the realities of small town living. “This is real life in the real world, we ain’t talking to no models, we got real girls,” starts off the chorus that’s accompanied by a driving percussive beat and sets of “na na na’s” that are just enough to pull you in.
Lyrically, it’s one of the more simplistic songs that Owen has released, but it’s overall relatable content, easily danceable sound and Owen’s plucky attitude help to make “Real Life” an easy contender for a new summertime small-town anthem.
Jake Owen’s new album, which will include “Real Life,” is planned for release by the end of 2015. Owen will also be joining Chase Rice as opening acts for Kenny Chesney on dates throughout his Big Revival Tour throughout the summer.
“Real Life” is currently available for download on iTunes.
