Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott has been making the most of the band’s recent hiatus. Over the past few months, she’s been hard at work recording a new faith-based album called Love Remains with the help of her mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott, and younger sister Rylee Scott.
The lead single off her new solo LP, “Thy Will,” is a piano-driven track that’s focused on the importance of holding onto your faith, even through the hardest of times. Take a listen below.
In a hand-written note posted to her social media pages, Scott explained what prompted her to both start this new project and pen “Thy Will.”
“I wrote this song about a very recent experience that left me heartbroken, asking why, and facing some of my most difficult days,” Scott writes. “As I ask some really hard questions, I hold onto the truth that there is so much to the story of my life that I can’t see, but that I still choose to trust Him.”
It’s clear that this new project is one of the most emotional and important projects the singer has ever worked on. Love Remains, which was produced by country legend Ricky Skaggs, currently has no set release date but will likely come out later this year.
