Jake Owen has recruited fellow chart-topper Chris Stapleton for his experimental new single, “If He Ain’t Gonna Love You.”
The Florida native is returning to his roots for his upcoming album, American Love. So far, every song he’s releasedhas an exotic and fun style that makes you want to run to the nearest beach. His latest track, “If He Ain’t Gonna Love You,” is definitely no different.
Between the funky beats and plucky guitar, Owen pours his heart out to the woman of his dreams. Stapleton comes in for the chorus, packing a punch with his soulful backing vocals.
“If He Ain’t Gonna Love You” will be featured on Owen’s upcoming American Love, slated for release on July 29. The record was inspired by a year spent rediscovering himself after a difficult divorce.
“This record has been very enlightening because I found myself through the songs. I got back to basics with American Love,” he said in a press release. “This is me, this is what I want to say and this is what I want people to remember me for.”
American Love features cuts co-written by some of Nashville’s biggest songwriters, including this single’s guest star Chris Stapleton. The album also features Owen’s recent hit single, “American Country Love Song” and “Good Company.”
