Hear an Adorable 13-Year-Old Dolly Parton Sing on Her First Recording

Goldband Records

On Tuesday evening (Nov. 2) Dolly Parton will be honored with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award during the 50th annual CMA Awards. Parton certainly deserves the high honor. She is one of the most successful artists in country music history.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CMA Awards, Parton shared the first song she ever recorded with her fans and followers on Facebook.

“In many ways, ‘Puppy Love’ was the start of this whole journey,” wrote Parton in her Facebook post.

Parton is always reminded of her humble beginnings. She grew up in a rural Tennessee town, crammed in a cabin with her brothers and sisters. She was a little girl with big dreams that were far too big for her surroundings. Parton’s background has inspired a lot of her material and is also the subject of the recent TV film Coat of Many Colors

Country music is thankful for Parton and all that she has given us over the years. Watch Dolly receive the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award tonight during the 50th annual CMA Awards on ABC at 8 pm/7pm CST. Click here to view a complete list of this year’s winners.
