Harley Davidson has issued a recall that effects six different types of motorcycles from the past two model years.
Harley Davidson is recalling nearly 46,000 motorcycles due to an issue with the vehicle’s clutches.
The company is recalling motorcycles sold under the Electra Glide, Ultra Limited, Police Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King models. This recall only effects motorcycles sold from the 2014 and 2015 model years.
The recall is due to an issue that causes motorcycles to stay in gear due to clutches that won’t fully disengage. The issue can cause riders to lose control of the motorcycle if they start riding while in gear.
To repair the issue, dealers will flush the clutch and rebuild the master cylinder.
The company discovered the issue after customers reported 27 related crashes and four minor injuries.
