If you haven’t seen them yet, you’ve got to catch a glimpse of the incredible skull art created by Florida artist Rene Gibson and British Artist Lauren Baker. These intricate mosaics adorning otherwise ordinary animal skulls make them exquisite pieces of art perfect for any country home.
Rene Gibson’s works:
Gibson spent her youth fascinated by western culture, and it shows in her gorgeous works. A West Palm Beach, Florida resident, Gibson takes inspiration from nature and everything around her, crafting beautiful pieces of art from what were once abandoned and sun-bleached skull
“I seem to love bits and pieces…. colorful bits and pieces,” Gibson writes on her Etsy shop page. “It started simply enough with mosaics which led me to work with animal skulls, and now beaded jewelry. It’s actually become a metaphor for life for me. All of the colorful bits and pieces of life seem to somehow come together to form one unified beautiful creation. I love it!”
Lauren Baker’s Works:
Baker’s metallic paint and bead creations are simple yet stunning. She finds her muse in her experiences traveling in the Peruvian Amazon and Brazil, where she worked with a mosaic street art project.
Her time spent surrounded by the wildlife and flora of the South American rainforest had a profound impact on her life and work.
