The Garth Brooks World Tour featuring Trisha Yearwood has broken multiple records for ticket sales this year, with each individual tour date grossing more than $1 million. Over the course of the year, almost every venue had to add additional tour dates to accommodate the high demand from fans. Brooks’ choice to visit smaller cities while regulating ticket prices to one flat fee helped to keep his fans eager to buy.
After enjoying enormous success from this year’s span of dates, Brooks plans to extend his tour into 2016 with stops announced in Florida, Maryland and South Carolina. Many more tour dates are expected to follow in the coming months, which already makes Brooks a top candidate for next year’s list.
Pop star Katy Perry and British boy band One Direction earned the first and second spots on this year’s list. Toby Keith was the second country artist to make the list this year, coming at number sixteen with $53 million in earnings. Jason Aldean hit number nineteen with $43.5 million, followed by Luke Bryan and Kenny Chesney.
