He’s known for his amazing live performances, so why is Garth Brooks prepared to lip sync?
When it comes to his performance at this year’s 50th annual ACM Awards, Garth Brooks isn’t taking any chances.
During an interview with SiriusXM, Brooks admitted he had recorded a version of his live performance to be aired during the award ceremony in case he loses his voice. He is currently in the middle of a set of shows in Portland, Oregon for his highly publicized comeback world tour with wife Trisha Yearwood.
“Just in case we have to lip sync, we taped a performance that was solely made for the awards show,” Brooks said to host Storme Warren. “So we don’t know if we’re lip syncing or not, but my bet is, if I know Portland, we’re not going to get out of here with anything.”
The six-time Entertainer of the Year award winner is up for the coveted award again this year and has promised a “once in a lifetime performance” during this year’s ceremony.
