This past Wednesday (Oct. 25), country music paid tribute to one of their most distinguished and illustrious voices, Kenny Rogers. For over three hours, a Who’s Who of country music artists performed the accomplished songbook of the legendary country singer. One of the highlights of the unforgettable night was Chris Stapleton performing perhaps Rogers’ most iconic song, the crossover mega-hit “The Gambler.”

With Rogers standing side stage, the crowd erupted as Stapleton took the microphone. Armed with his gravelly roar, Stapleton lead the nine-piece house band and sold-out 20,000-person crowd into Grammy-winning hit. Before walking off stage, Stapleton walked over to Rogers to congratulate and thank him once again with a heartfelt handshake. You can watch the entire performance above.

All In For The Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert was a one-night-only celebration at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and featured performances by Dolly Parton, Don Henley, Alison Krauss, Jamey Johnson, Lady Antebellum, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, and a host of others.

While the concert celebration did mark Rogers’ final performance in Nashville, the retiring Rogers is currently on his farewell tour, The Gambler’s Last Deal, which takes him through the end of the year.
