For the First Time Since Debilitating Stroke, Randy Travis Returns to Opry

It has been two years since country star Randy Travis suffered from a life-changing stroke.

In the past few months, Travis has been making more and more public appearances, including one at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards.

On Sept. 25, the musician returned to the Grand Ole Opry to soak in the show and catch up with old friends. Although he didn’t perform, it was obvious Travis was having a great time as he caught up with fellow Opry members and country stars, including Tanya Tucker.

Earlier in 2015, Travis updated fans with a heartfelt letter posted to his official website.

“None of us are worthy of the immense outpouring of support shown to me, and I consider each of my fans, a friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote. “Writing songs was always a passion of mine, and I still have a lot to share with you. It is my prayer that, with continued healing, one day soon, I will be back on that stage exchanging music with my fans.”
