Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard Quits Social Media

Florida Georgia Line member Tyler Hubbard is taking a long term break from the world of social media.

The 29-year-old singer revealed his decision through what may be his final post ever on Instagram.

I’ve done a lot of thinking and praying about this for the last few days and I think it’s time for me to take a break from social media indefinitely. I spend way to much of my valuable time worrying about my next post or how many comments or likes I got. Honestly it’s a little ridiculous and I’m ready to get back to focusing all my attention on the things that really matter. I love my fans and promise I’m not gone forever but I’m taking some time to refocus on my relationships, the Lord, my marriage, my family, and my music. Maybe I’ll even learn a new instrument instead of learning how to snap chat. I want to make sure that I’m living my life to the fullest and not worrying about making a highlight reel for the world to talk about or comparing my life to other peoples highlight reels. That’s not what life is about. #backtothebasics

While this news may bum out many diehard Florida Georgia Line fans, Hubbard’s choice to reconnect with real life is a refreshing one. These days, country artists are dedicating more and more time to building up their social media accounts. This helps the group build a fanbase and a brand that can be easily marketed.

Now, Hubbard says he’s simply focused on living in the moment.

“I want to make sure that I’m living my life to the fullest and not worrying about making a highlight reel for the world to talk about or comparing my life to other peoples highlight reels,” he says. That’s not what life is about.”

Fans can still catch Florida Georgia Line out on the road through the end of November. You can find their full list of upcoming tour dates at their official website.
