Last week, a new episode of HGTV’s Fixer Upper focused on the Copp family. As AJC.com explains, Melissa and Jody Copp have two sons, Calan, 9, and Lawson, 5, who needed a wheelchair-accessible home. In order to transform their house into a space the whole family could enjoy, Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines recruited Tim Tebow, who Chip referred to as his “body double” on Instagram, to help out.
After working on the heartwarming episode, Chip and Joanna Gaines still felt compelled to deliver more than just the perfect home for the Copp family. They decided to reach out to fans to help pay off the mortgage on the house so the Copp family could live even more comfortably. Chip took to Instagram after the episode aired to gather funds.
Of course, it didn’t take long for Fixer Upper fans to rally behind the good cause. Chip uploaded a follow-up post only two days after the call to help out the Copp family with the news that their mortage was paid in full. “Thanks for teaming up with us to get this thing finished! Their lives are forever changed because of your generosity,” Gaines wrote alongside a photo of the elated Copp family outside of their new home that truly says it all.
