This Family Lived in RV at a Texas Hospital So Their Daughter Could Get Life-Saving Treatment

A little time on the road won’t keep one Nebraska family from getting their daughter the help she needs. The family of three-year-old Sh-Shaw McDonnell has been living out of an RV for the past nine weeks at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.

According to WFAA, Sh-Shaw suffers from severe infantile scoliosis. When she was adopted by Cassie McDonnell and her husband last year, the couple immediately began to seek medical assistance. After scouring the nation for their best bet, the Nebraskan family settled on Scottish Rite in Dallas. Willing to do anything for Sh-Shaw, the McDonnells packed up their RV and drove south.

While Sh-Shaw received medical treatment from some of the best pediatric surgeons in the world, the McDonnells lived in their RV in the parking lot of Scottish Rite. There were daily picnics in and around the RV, but the McDonnells were beginning to wish for home. Especially with Christmas coming just around the corner.

Luckily, the McDonnells received a Christmas miracle of their own. The medical staff at Scottish Rite were able to get Sh-Shaw to a point where she could make the trip back home. Now, the McDonnells will get to have a much-deserved cozy Christmas in the comfort of their own home.
