Dustin Lynch Gives Honest Reaction to Not Being Nominated For ACM Award

Country singer-songwriter Dustin Lynch recently launched a new video series that gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at his life. In a short clip uploaded to Facebook and Instagram on March 3rd, he candidly shows his disappointment after learning he wasn't nominated for an ACM Award this year.

Lynch's only Academy of Country Music Award nomination was in 2004 for New Artist of the Year. With the release of his 2017 record, Current Mood, and the major success of its single "Small Town Boy," it seemed like Lynch was going to get a second nomination.

While laying on a hotel room bed in the early morning, listening to the nominations, Lynch's face falls as he realized he isn't among the nominees. "Well, we successfully didn't get nominated again," Lynch says to a friend on the phone. "Career-changing song. I don't get it. What am I missing?"

Lynch's willingness to be vulnerable and show the personal and professional dissatisfaction he felt when hearing the nominations will go a long way with fans who appreciate his honesty and how he bounces back. "It changes nothing about today or how we go about it," Lynch concludes.
