Dolly Parton stopped by The Voice on Tuesday night’s results show to perform two different songs. Before taking the stage with her goddaughter (Miley Cyrus), she sang “Circle of Love.” Joining her in the performance was Jennifer Nettle’s and all of the Top 10 Voice contestants.
“Circle of Love” is from her upcoming NBC holiday special, Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love. It’s the follow-up TV film for Coat of Many Colors which garnered 13.2 million viewers last December. Both of the movies are semi-biographical and star Nettles portraying young Parton’s mother.
Dressed in all-white outfits, Parton and Nettles sounded absolutely flawless together in this performance.
Later on in the night, judge Miley Cyrus joined Parton and a cappella group Pentatonix for an incredible performance of “Jolene.” In Sept., Parton and Pentatonix actually released an official music video for their collaborative version of the iconic song.
Parton’s appearance on The Voice took place while wildfires in East Tennessee raged on. The fires, which have overtaken many parts of Sevier County, have threatened her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge. Park employees and visitors have all been evacuated. It was reported yesterday that three people have perished as a results of the wildfires.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8/7c.
