Dierks Bentley’s music video series wraps up with the video for his song, “Black.” This is the fourth and final part of the series which followed the drama of of two secret lovers. All of the songs are part of Bentley’s upcoming album, titled Black, which is set for release on May 27.

Part one was the music video for “I’ll Be the Moon,” where we meet the woman and her lover on the side. In “What the Hell Did I Say,” the woman’s boyfriend finds her phone filled with texts from the other man. The third part of the series, “Pick Up,” deals with the aftermath of that, and leaves the villainous boyfriend presumably dead in his home.

“Black” picks up with the lovers fleeing the home and heading to a motel where the woman washes blood off of her arms and has a bit of a breakdown over the incident. The video is also incredibly steamy, with the couple hitting the sheets for a majority of the time. The eventful series comes to a surprising close as the woman leaves the motel room while her beau is still fast asleep.

Bentley dished about sexy video with Rolling Stone Country, explaining, “I saw it originally in color and I thought, ‘Damn, that’s pretty racy!’ In color, it’s almost like Skin-emax, but you put it in black-and-white and it’s more like Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’: sexy cool. So we went a little more Chris Isaak, a little less Skin-emax.”

The inspiration behind the Black album is Bentley’s wife, Cassidy, whose maiden name is Black. Many of the songs on the album have been directly derived from his own personal relationships.

“My wife is cool enough to let me write about personal things, to be a songwriter exploring the shadowy sides of love,” Bentley shares. “It’s personal to us, but I also want it to be universal.”
