Dierks Bentley gave a block party performance for one lucky Austin, Texas neighborhood on Tuesday morning.
The segment was for Good Morning America‘s block party contest, which began earlier this year. The community at Riverside Drive in Austin were the lucky winners. Every year they throw a block party with special events. This year they held a Dollar Drive to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The neighborhood invited first responders from Austin and Round Rock who have helped with the recovery along the battered Texas coast.
Before the show, Bentley chatted with the host about meeting with first responders over the past few weeks. Bentley recently visited Las Vegas to visit with first responders and hospital staff who saved lives during the Las Vegas shooting.
He also recorded a new song for the soundtrack of the upcoming film Hold The Light, a dramatic retelling of the wildland firefighters who died fighting Arizona’s Yarnell Hill wildfire in 2013. California is currently battling wildfires across the state.
