One of the worst pains in the world is losing a pet. Each person finds a way to carry on the memory of their four-legged friend in their own way. For country star Dierks Bentley, he’s using music to share the memory of his late dog Jake with the world.
Bentley announced in a Twitter post a week ago that Jake had passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 15. It seems like he had a wonderful life as Bentley’s companion.
Bentley is now paying tribute to Jake while on tour, as seen in this fan video from Tampa, Fla. The video captures Bentley singing “Every Mile a Memory” while photos of Jake flash on the screens behind him. The singer did the same thing at his recent Charlotte, N.C. show.
If this doesn’t prove how much Bentley loved Jake, maybe the tribute song on the singer’s new album, Black, will. The track, titled “Can’t Be Replaced,” is all about his companion. Jake has also been featured in several of Bentley’s music videos, including his first one, “What Was I Thinkin’.”
We think Bentley is doing a beautiful job of honoring his late friend’s memory. Rest in peace, Jake!
