Dierks Bentley Says He and Luke Bryan Were ‘Fired’ from ACM Awards

Dierks Bentley has revealed that he and Luke Bryan will no longer host the Academy of Country Music Awards. During an interview at this year’s Country Radio Seminar, Bentley saw a photo of himself and Bryan at the awards and stated, “That’s over. We got fired. Is that not common knowledge?”

Though it wasn’t exactly “common knowledge” when Bentley spilled the beans, the Academy of Country Music Awards has since confirmed the statement that the duo won’t be returning as hosts after their two-year stint.

No reason was given as to why Bentley and Bryan weren’t cast as this year’s hosts, but the ACM seems to have a pattern of changing up their hosts every two to three years. Bryan and Blake Shelton hosted for three years prior to Bentley and Bryan, and Reba McEntire hosted with Shelton for two years before that, coming off of her 10-year solo hosting gig.

At this time, the ACM hasn’t released any information as to who the new host(s) will be. This year’s award show takes place on April 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, so an announcement about the host(s) is coming in the next few weeks.
