If you’re a NASCAR driver, it can be hard to ignore that lingering need for speed. That’s exactly what happened to Dale Earnhardt Jr., who wound up being pulled over by a Texas police officer for hitting the gas pedal a little too hard.

Earnhardt was stopped by police while driving to Texas Motor Speedway for the AAA Texas 500 earlier this week. Dale’s fiancee, Amy Reimann, couldn’t help but snap a photo of the moment. The resulting tweet has quickly gone viral, and supplied many of Dale’s fans with some hearty chuckles.

Earnhardt may be feeling a little antsy to get back on the track these days. He’s been sidelined from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the rest of the season after suffering lingering health issues stemming from a concussion.

Still, Earnhardt Jr. plans to climb back into his No. 88 Chevrolet to race in near year’s Daytona 500. Until then, Dale may want to consider getting a personal driver to avoid racking up any more tickets.
