These country stars look a lot different without their trademark hats!
Many country artists carry their trademark hat everywhere they go, but if the stars align and the camera is timed just right, you can catch them in rare form without their headgear. Here are 15 of your favorite country stars without their hats.
15. Dwight Yoakam
Dwight Yoakam is not only an incredibly talented musician, but he has received critical acclaim for his work on screen. Above is a nearly unrecognizable shot of Yoakam appearing as Bruce in the television comedy Wilfred.
14. Brantley Gilbert
A picture from the early stage of his career, Brantley Gilbert doesn’t have much to hide under his trademark baseball cap. Now he pairs a black hat with a wallet chain, dog tag necklace and leather cuffs, to complete his badass persona.
13. Jason Aldean
Without his cowboy or baseball hat, Jason Aldean could blend in with any other guy at the local bar after work. On rare occasions, he comes out to play, leaving the hats at home. In the picture above, Aldean is celebrating the birthday of his guitar player, Kurt Allison.
12. Brad Paisley
In Brad Paisley’s case, his hat takes him from boy to man. At 40 years old, he’s blessed with a youthful look and he still has a full head of hair, something he’ll be proud to show off down the road.
11. Dustin Lynch
Right now you are saying, “that can’t be Dustin Lynch,” but oh it is. Now known for his trademark look sporting the Resistol Maclane straw cowboy hat, Lynch has one of the most traditional cowboy styles in today’s mainstream country scene.

10. Alan Jackson
A sad affair gave us an honest and rare glimpse at Alan Jackson without his hat as he paid respects to George Jones at The Possum’s funeral in 2013.
9. George Strait
Another diehard fan of the Resistol brand of cowboy hats, George Strait even has his own line with the manufacturer. Without his hat, he is casual and cool, but with his hat, we are blessed with King George.
8. Justin Moore
Apparently, the only time Justin Moore takes off his hat is when it’s at risk of getting wet, but he should do it more often! Without his boots, head-to-toe denim and over-sized hat, he could give any hipster a run for their money.
7. Terri Clark
One of only a few woman that proudly don the cowboy(girl) hat, Terri Clark has never strayed from her traditional style. A fan of the black hat, she wears it on and off stage, but will periodically show off her gorgeous locks.
6. Colt Ford
Colt Ford is anything but your typical cowboy, but that doesn’t keep him from wearing the cowboy hat loud and proud. If he didn’t have his other trademark on (his sunglasses) in the photo above he would be completely unrecognizable.
5. Toby Keith
In this picture, Toby Keith is seen out of his usual cowboy duds in a scene for Broken Bridges, in which he plays Bo Price, a country singer down on his luck.
4. Trace Adkins
Seeing Trace Adkins out of his hat is starting to become more and more common, but for years he wore a sleek black cowboy hat. Only recently has he embraced showing off his long blonde hair, driving women crazy all over the world.
3. Clay Walker
12 albums and every one of the covers is graced with Clay Walker in his hallmark hat. All it took was portraying a colonial man in 1755 for Walker to set the hat aside; however, it looks like he is a victim of permanent hat hair.
2. Lee Brice
Not really one to be seen in a cowboy hat, Lee Brice favors a backward ball cap for day-to-day wear. It’s out for debate whether he likes it, or if it is just an easy way to get out of doing his hair…he doesn’t seem the type to spend much time getting ready.
1. Hank Williams Jr.
The final spot on this list goes to the one and only Hank Williams Jr. (pictured on the right). Not since he was a baby has the top of his head seen the light of day for any extended period of time. Hank, Jr. is a huge fan of hats, and he incorporates many hat changes into his show each night on stage.
