Michael Ray Arrested for DUI, Marijuana Oil After Fender Bender at Florida McDonald's

Country singer Michael Ray was arrested early Wednesday morning (12/20) on charges of driving under the influence in his hometown of Eustis, Fla.

Police say Ray was showing signs of intoxication when he rear-ended another vehicle in the drive-thru of a McDonald's.

The Orlando Sentinel published portions of the police report.

"While speaking to Michael I noticed he had blood shot eyes, slurred speech, he stumbled while walking and smelled of alcohol," the arresting officer's report states.

In addition, Ray admitted to having been drinking, informing the officer that he was returning from a bar in nearby Tavares.

Ray refused the breathalyzer test, but failed several elements of the field sobriety test, including being unable to stand on one leg and walking in a straight line.

In addition to the alcohol, police found a bottle of marijuana oil in Ray's vehicle that he admitted belonged to him.

Ray's real name is Michael Ray Roach. He had a No. 1 hit in 2015 with his single "Kiss You in the Morning", and his 2016 song "Think a Little Less" reached No. 2 on country airplay. He performed at the Grand Ole Opry in 2016 to rave reviews and seemed to have a bright future in country music. Ray also landed a role on CMT's show Nashville earlier in 2017.
