Star-Studded 'Country Rising' Benefit Concert Will Aid Route 91 Victims

Earlier this month, Country Rising: Nashville Gives for Hurricane Relief made headlines for its impressive roster of superstar performers. Now, the massive benefit show will be expanding its focus.

Besides benefitting victims of recent hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria, Country Rising will also give proceeds to victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.

"In the course of rebuilding lives disrupted by these devastating events, there are immediate needs and there also will be long-term needs," concert organizers said in a press release. "This fund will strategically support both as they emerge."

The long list of country music icons who will be performing at the benefit includes George Strait and Chris Stapleton. Due to scheduling conflicts, Garth Brooks has unfortunately bowed out from the lineup. However, all of the proceeds from his World Tour stop in Spokane on Nov. 12 will go to the Country Rising fund. In his place, Keith Urban will be performing at the event.

Jason Aldean, who was on stage when the Las Vegas shooting began, is also set to perform. He recently gave an impassioned speech on the frightening experience to fans in Tulsa, Okla.
