Billboard recently released its list of Top 40 highest-paid musicians of 2015, and among the rich and famous were some familiar names to those who follow the country music genre. In fact, country music can claim eight (and one-half) artists on the coveted list.
Proving to be the fiscal favorite overall was former country star Taylor Swift, who, regardless of current genre, will always have an influential place back where she dug her roots. Kenny Chesney outranked all other country musicians at No. 2 on the overall list, with Luke Bryan not far behind at No. 7.
Scoring spots in the Top 20 were Shania Twain, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line, while Brad Paisley and Toby Keith were named to the Top 30. Just to put a little bit of perspective into the situation, Swift’s revenue in 2015 was $73.5 million and Keith’s (who came in at number thirty-eight on the list) was $5.5 million. The remaining country music artists who are classified as music’s “highest earners” ranked as follows:
No. 2 – Kenny Chesney with $39.8 million
No. 7 – Luke Bryan with $23.1 million
No. 11 – Jason Aldean with $18.9 million
No. 12 – Shania Twain with $14.4 million
No. 19 – Florida Georgia Line with $11.5 million
No. 23 – Eric Church with $10.1 million
No. 35 – Brad Paisley with $6.8 million
