It turns out that’s easier said than done.

What I learned about dating country girls from listening to country music possibly left me even more befuddled than when I started. Here are the 11 lessons I learned about dating country girls from listening to country music.

11. What they’re attracted to

10. What they expect from you

A country girl is looking for a man to accept her just the way she is. As goes the cliche, if you can’t handle her at her worst, you don’t deserve her at her best. Of course, her best may be a bra from Walmart, your t-shirt or sneakers. Oh and it’s ok if she is late, but you had better not be.

9. What a good date is

Girls seem to always be on the lookout for someone different, someone unique. In a world where every other song is about taking a girl on a date to drive around in your truck in a muddy field, maybe what’s unique is taking her to a nice restaurant and dancing.
