Clay Walker and his non-profit organization Band Against MS are once again gearing up for their annual Band Against MS Charity Ride.
This year, the ride will begin and end at the Home of the Shell Houston Open PGA Tournament in Humble, Texas on March 26. The annual event will raise money and public awareness of multiple sclerosis, a disease that Walker himself was diagnosed with in 1996.
“This event holds a special place in my heart because it combines two of my favorite things, cycling and raising awareness about multiple sclerosis,” Walker said in a press release. “Over the last three years, all of the people who have taken a part in the ride have expressed their gratitude for this event, and I am so excited we are able to do it again this year.”
Walker invites riders of all skill levels to participate in the 2016 Band Against MS Ride, which will feature a variety of routes. Since its launch three years ago, the event has welcomed over 1,000 riders and raised $4.4 million toward research and treatment programs for MS. Those interested in riding can currently register as individual participants or teams for the event at the Band Against MS website.
