'Nashville' Star Clare Bowen Honors Her Brother's Cancer Battle in Heartfelt New Video

Nashville star Clare Bowen is sure to tug at your heart strings with her beautiful new music video.

"Love Steps In" is an intensely personal son written by Justin Halpin and Bowen's fiance, Brandon Robert Young. It's a tribute to Bowen's brother, Timothy James Bowen, who faced a terrifying diagnosis less than two years ago.

According to Rolling Stone, Timothy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma in 2015 at the young age of 25. What's even scarier is that he was told he only had two weeks to live. Now, Bowen is paying tribute to her brother's battle through music.

The song's video features clips of Bowen singing onstage and in the studio, alongside some beautiful family photos. The pictures show the two Bowens throughout their childhood, growing up together. This married with her sweet vocals makes the video incredibly personal.

"Love Steps In" is a powerful song but knowing the true story behind the lyrics, makes it pack even more of an emotional punch. "Fight on, fight on little brother," she softly sings in the song. "With the power and the grace of our mother / Fight on, fight on little brother / With the calm and strength of our father."

The good news behind this sad story is that Timothy is currently in remission and has been since March 2016. He even made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry last year. Footage from that incredible moment is also featured in the music video above.

Although Bowen's fiance wrote the track, it came as a surprise to the singer. Young approached her one day saying, "'Sweetheart, I'm not sure if I should play this for you, but it was a song that I had to write. You don't have to sing it if you don't like it.'"

"It was so cathartic for him, in the position of supporting somebody who was in shock of hearing that their brother was so sick, that he had to get it out," Bowen says.

Now that you know the entire backstory, watch the beautiful music video tribute above (and maybe grab a tissue or two).
