Christina Aguilera will appear in several episodes of the hit ABC TV series, Nashville.
The singer will star as Jade, an established pop singer who performs two nights in the city’s famed Bridgestone Arena. After spending the last decade of her life working nonstop on her superstar career in pop music, she hopes to spend her time unwinding and relaxing while in Nashville. But after getting a glimpse of life in Music City, she decides she wants to switch to country music instead. Unfortunately, her record label, lured by the millions of dollars she is already making, refuses to comply.
While it’s unclear which of the regulars on the show she will interact with, there is sure to be plenty of drama, as Aguilera battles it out with her record company for the right to control her own career.
The powerhouse vocalist is no stranger to the acting world. Aguilera has already appeared in the comedic film, Get Him To the Greek, as well as the blockbuster hit, Burlesque.
The songstress is also familiar with being in front of the TV cameras as well. She will return for Season 8 of The Voice, appearing for the fifth time on the reality TV talent show, which this year includes Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams as fellow judges.
Aguilera joins a long list of stars who have appeared on prime-time drama, including Sara Evans, Derek Hough, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood.
Nashville airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 PM ET on ABC.
