Chris Stapleton strikes again with another amazing cover. In this fan-captured video from his April 27 tour stop at the Greek Theater in Berkley, Calif., Chris Stapleton sings “My Girl,” accompanied on vocals by his wife Morgane, Miranda Lambert and her new love interest, rising soul singer Anderson East.
The Stapletons and East first performed the lively cover of iconic Temptations song during their April 23 show at the Greek, and decided to bring the song back out on Wednesday night. Stapleton and friends appear to have a ball on stage performing the soulful 1960’s hit. You can clearly hear the crowd joining in and singing along with them.
Chris kicks things off, lending his classic country voice to the song. Then, East takes over and belts it out with his signature blues-infused, raspy tone. Lambert and Morgane back the boys up on vocals.
Is there any song that Chris and Morgane Stapleton haven’t cover to perfection? Chris Stapleton’s cover of “Purple Rain” in honor of Prince is a must-watch, and the couple’s rendition of Haggard’s “Today I Started Loving You Again” is a sensational tribute to the late singer.
Stapleton is currently on tour, rolling through virtually every state in the country through October. He had to postpone a stop in Santa Barbara just a few days after this show due to a vocal issue. On Aug. 5, he’ll start his eight-city stretch of shows with Hank Williams Jr.
