Chris Stapleton has been forced to reschedule a performance in Santa Barbara, California due to issues with his voice.
According to a statement posted on his Instagram account, the country star has lost his voice and is currently seeking medical treatment to pinpoint the cause of his health issue.
“Dear fans & friends, I am torn up about having to postpone tomorrow night’s show in Santa Barbara,” Stapleton writes. “I’ve lost my voice and am headed to the doctor first thing in the morning. Please know we are working hard to find the earliest possible date we can to get back to you guys. I truly regret having to do this & any inconvenience it may cause. Thanks for your support & understanding. You guys mean the world to me. Sincerely, Chris.”
Although vocal problems can sound scary to most, many professional singers encounter some issues with their voice sometime in their career. Tyler Farr and Little Big Town’s Jimi Westbrook both went under the knife to remove polyps on their vocal chords in the past year and are back performing as usual.
Stapleton fans should hope for a speedy recovery, as the singer has an incredibly busy tour schedule ahead of him. He’s still scheduled to play a show on April 27 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, and is set for a performance at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California later this weekend.
