Reuben and April Welch own Grove Farm in Bonnyrigg, Scotland and have been hard at work harvesting their new crops of fruit. During these efforts, they discovered one strawberry standing out among the rest.
It didn’t catch their eye because of its size or color. Rather, this strawberry has an uncanny resemblance of a chicken. Yes, you read that right. The owners were so tickled by the look-alike fruit they snapped a photo and shared it online, with the clever caption, “Going to have to eat this chicken as it hasn’t laid a single bloody egg yet.” Since it was posted on Grove Farms’ Facebook page, the photo has been shared over 2,000 times.
Although it may seem like a once-in-a-lifetime discovery, there must be something special about this farm’s strawberry crop. The two recently found a second berry that also looks astoundingly similar to a chicken, complete with a beak and nest to sit on.
No one really knows if there’s something incredibly special about this farm or if the fruit harvesters just have a more creative eye than most. Either way, these unique berries sure are fun to look at.
