Chick-Fil-A fans have finally made their voices heard. After months of protests and urging from social media, the fast-food chain is deciding to bring back their famous BBQ sauce. This decision takes place after a popular hashtag, #BringBackTheBBQ, became viral. To announce the move, Chick-Fil-A sent an email to their fans stating that they were changing that hashtag to #BroughtBackTheBBQ.
The decision to go with a new BBQ sauce came in July. Chick-Fil-A discontinued the original recipe for a new “smokehouse barbecue sauce” one instead. Along with this change, the chain switched out their original buffalo sauce for one called “zesty buffalo sauce.” But, it was the BBQ sauce change that caused a ruckus.
This isn’t the first time Chick-Fil-A chose to make some pretty significant changes to their menu. Just this year, fans of their coleslaw and spicy chicken biscuit found themselves dissapointed after they attempted to get the restaurant to put them back on the menu. Chick-Fil-A claims that these particular items slow down the order line significantly and have no plans to bring them back.
But, at least the BBQ sauce fans were successful with their protest. If you are on the lookout for the return of this beloved condiment, it will return to stores on Nov. 7. Chick-Fil-A says they even plan to send those involved with the protest an entire bottle of the signature sauce. Maybe that will help them make up the time they’ve missed with their favorite chicken sandwich condiment.
I guess Chick-Fil-A has now learned that you simply can’t mess with someone’s BBQ sauce!
