Mike Robidoux found himself without a home for eight tiny chicks after his wife brought them home in a cardboard box.
He researched pre-made coops, but found that they didn’t quite meet the quality standards he had as a professional engineer and part-time carpenter. This led him to draw up his own plans for one of the most unique and incredibly functional chicken coops.
Over the course of two weekends, Robidoux was able to make his vision come to life. According to Popular Mechanics, he built the chicken coop with his family in mind by providing windows to observe the chickens and a full-size door that lets visitors come in and out of the coop easily. One of the smartest editions was a set of wheels added to the base of the coop, which allows Robidoux to move the chickens anywhere around his 4-acre property with ease. Thanks to Robidoux’s imaginative mind and incredible building skills, these lucky chickens are sure to live a life of luxury.
