H-E-B’s Central Market is coming to northern Texas. The San Antonio based grocery store has announced the purchase of six Sun Fresh locations in the Dallas-Forth Worth area.

The state’s largest grocery chain will be opening four of the upcoming stores in Dallas, while two additional stores will open in Grapevine and McKinney.

Sun Fresh will be closing the doors of all six locations while the the acquisition is underway. Settlement of the transaction should be in the coming weeks, but an opening date is still in the works. H-E-B’s executive vice president of real estate, Todd Piland, isn’t quite sure how they want to use the locations yet.

“We are currently evaluating the feasibility of each site to determine the most effective use of the properties.”

Dallas currently operates two Central Market stores while H-E-B stores locations are in Burleson, Cleburne, Corsicana, Ennis, Granbury, Stephenville and Waxahachie.

  • Hardin Boulevard and El Dorado Parkway in McKinney
  • State Highway 121 and Hall Johnson Road in Grapevine
