Cassadee Pope has had quite the year, from topping the charts with Chris Young for their song “Think of You” to her recent bright and flirty Summer EP. Pope also had the huge opportunity to perform on the CMT Awards stage with Leona Lewis and Pitbull earlier this year.

One of her brightest performances this year happened in late September during a show at the Grand Ole Opry. Pope truly shined while singing a bluesy version of Tammy Wynette’s classic “Til I Can Make It On My Own.” Watch the breathtaking performance below:

The song has some personal meaning for Pope. “This is one of my grandpa’s favorites,” she told the audience, “and I hope I don’t mess it up.” She effortlessly soared through the song with her upper vocal register while channeling her inner Tammy Wynette. I think her grandpa would be proud.
