It looks like Mike Fisher is ready to give wife Carrie Underwood a run for her money in the country music world after being invited to duet with Garth Brooks.
Brooks took to social media to extend a duet invitation to the Nashville Predators hockey player on Jan. 6 after his wife posted a short clip on Instagram of Fisher singing along to Brooks’ 1992 hit “The River” the day prior.
Re-posting the short video to his official page, Brooks wrote; “Bro, that is AWESOME! I HAVE to call you out after that…Nashville is the last city on the American leg of the World Tour…You and me, on stage, The River. You in? love you pal, g [sic].”
OH MY. MIKE SAID YES.
Proving that it’s impossible to turn down the country legend, eagle eyed Underwood fan and Twitter user heygoodgirlcu spotted the couple’s response to the opportunity on Instagram, where it appears that Fisher is ready to ditch the ice for the stage.
The “Smoke Break” singer reportedly commented on the Instagram post “he’s in” while Fisher later chimed in in the comments section, “Heck yeah buddy lets do it! [sic].”
We’ll have to wait until Brooks swings by Knoxville, Tennessee in May to see if Fisher keeps his promise.
