Carrie Underwood’s 10 Best Performances So Far

Carrie Underwood is heading out on tour for The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round in January 2016. We’re celebrating her return to the road by taking a look at 10 of the “Smoke Break” singer’s best live performances to date.

10. “Remember When” – The Grand Ole Opry

When Carrie took to the Grand Ole Opry in 2012, she opted to pay homage to the first person she saw in concert, the legend that is Alan Jackson. Carrie effortlessly lent her voice to Alan’s beautiful 2003 ballad, “Remember When”, leaving the crowd teary-eyed.

9. “Paradise City” – CMA Festival

Proving there’s no style she can’t sing, Carrie had the crowd on their feet when she performed the Guns ‘N’ Roses classic “Paradise City” during her stellar set at LP Field for the CMA Festival back in 2013.

8. “Blown Away” Medley – The CMA Awards

Closing out her “Blown Away” era at the 2013 CMA Awards, Carrie effortlessly blended four of her biggest hits, “Good Girl”, “Blown Away”, “Two Black Cadillacs” and “See You Again”, into this jaw-dropping sassy performance.

7. “I Told You So” ft. Randy Travis – American Idol

Carrie returned to her American Idol roots in 2009 with a little help from Randy Travis. Carrie and Randy brought a little country flair to the Fox show with a stunning duet version of “I Told You So” that sent the song skyrocketing into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

6. “Jesus, Take The Wheel” – Walmart Soundcheck

Slowing things down and giving the classic “Jesus, Take The Wheel” a softer spin, the seven-time Grammy winner opted to switch things up for a 2009 session with Walmart Soundcheck in support of her album, Play On.

5. “All Is Well” (with Michael W. Smith) – CMA Country Christmas

Appearing on CMA Country Christmas in 2014, Carrie stunned the world with an incredible performance of the holiday song “All Is Well” with Christian star Michael W. Smith. Even more impressive? She was expecting her first child, Isaiah, at the time.

4. “Fix You” – VH1: Unplugged

Appearing on CMA Country Christmas in 2014, Carrie stunned the world with an incredible performance of the holiday song “All Is Well” with Christian star Michael W. Smith. Even more impressive? She was expecting her first child, Isaiah, at the time.

3. “Blown Away”/”Two Black Cadillacs” – The Grammy Awards

Before taking home the Grammy award for Best Country Solo Performance for “Blown Away”, Carrie opted to perform a beautiful, slow version of the platinum hit with the haunting “Two Black Cadillacs” at the 2013 awards show. Her vocals are so strong that they even distract us from that stunning projecting gown.

2. “So Small” – 2007 CMA Awards

Before she began hosting the show with Brad Paisley, Carrie took to the CMA Awards stage in 2007 in a stunning yellow gown to belt out her hit, “So Small”. The star’s powerhouse vocals were on full display at the big show, proving why she’s one of the finest vocalists in country music.

1. “How Great Thou Art” (Featuring Vince Gill) – ACM Presents Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country

No list of Carrie performances would be complete without her incredible rendition of “How Great Thou Art” with Vince Gill. The twosome took on the hymn during an appearance at ACM Presents Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country back in 2011, and their duet has pretty much become one of the most iconic performances in country music’s recent history.
