Carrie Underwood to Perform New Single on ACM Awards

On April 8, Carrie Underwood posted a stylized photo on Facebook of her eye with glitter dripping underneath like shiny tears along with the caption, "This Wednesday, April 11. 6am ET." Despite the tears, this definitely isn't an ominous post. Underwood plans on previewing her new single on that date, days before the upcoming ACM Awards.

Fans can either listen to the track when it comes out online, or they can wait for the night of the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 15th on CBS, where it was recently announced that Underwood will take the stage to perform. This means fans will get a powerful, theatrical version of the song as a performance debut of Underwood's first new single since the Super Bowl.

During Super Bowl coverage, Underwood's song "The Champion" became a huge hit. It marked her first new song since her 2015 record Storyteller. In 2016, Underwood toured extensively. The following year, she took some time off. Now, she's back with new music in 2018 and fans are more than ready to hear what she has to say.

This will mark Underwood's first performance after a scary fall outside of her home that resulted in over 40 stitches on her face and a broken wrist. Underwood doesn't seem to be letting the incident keep her down.
